The Boston Whaler 345 Conquest is a perfect marriage of fishing machine and family cruiser, with amenities that rival many luxury-oriented family cruisers in this size range.
The hull features the safety and performance reputation that Boston Whaler is known for, including flotation in the upright position when scuttled. And the ride, is outstanding, providing a level of comfort and confidence in demanding sea conditions.
For the family, there is plenty of seating in the cockpit, facing in multiple directions, and the high freeboard adds an additional level of confidence with the kids on board.
For the fisherman, there are plenty of rod holders, lots of storage, and a wide-open aft deck for fighting fish offshore. There is a 45-gallon live-well on the transom and the aft cockpit seating folds up against the gunwale when not in use for passengers. The tackle station features an innovative footrest when seated in the aft-facing position over the rear deck.
The helm is well appointed with Raymarine electronics, fly-by-wire engine controls featuring JPO (joystick), and Mercury Active Trim. Trim tabs help level the ride for load and varying sea conditions.
The open array radar keeps you aware of what’s around you, and the multi-function displays keep all of the information right where you need it.
On the bow, there are lounging pads and secondary controls for the windlass.
On the hardtop, a remote spotlight, the radar, and out-riggers are on the top, and on the inside is a beautifully finished off piece, with hatches, lights, speakers, and more helm controls for the drive.
Moving down to the cabin, the appointments are outstanding, including air conditioning (which also flows to the cockpit). Lots of rod holders on the starboard side, just below the electronics cabinet with all of the AC and DC controls, including generator and shore-power. In the bow is a roomy seating and dining area that converts to a forward birth.
On the port side is the galley area, featuring a fridge, microwave, and a spacious counter-top. Continuing to the aft is the head, and below the helm station is the full-size birth.
This is a low-hour, very well-maintained boat, and it is available by appointment at the Haulover Marine Center.
